Staffed Living

Western Human Resource provides staffed living services in each of the regions we serve. Staffed living homes support individuals who require 24-hour assistance in a shared living environment.
Our homes are licensed and held to high standards of safety, care, and quality. At the same time, we place strong emphasis on ensuring each home truly feels like home. The people who live there guide how their home looks, feels, and operates, so when you walk in, you see a space that reflects their personalities, interests, and choices.
While each home is unique, several key principles guide all of our staffed living services:
- Person-centered support: Staff provide individualized assistance with daily living, including personal care, medication management, and implementation of health and behavioural support plans tailored to each person’s needs.
- A shared home environment: Individuals are supported to take part in maintaining their home, whether helping with household tasks, organizing shared spaces, or participating in everyday routines. This encourages independence, pride in the home, and skill development.
- Connection to community: Community participation is an important part of life in staffed living. Many individuals attend Community Inclusion programs or enjoy activities within their neighborhood. Staff support people to participate in community events, recreation, concerts, sports, and other activities that reflect their interests.
Staffed living provides consistent, meaningful support while helping individuals live full and connected lives within their communities.
Working in a staffed living home is also a deeply rewarding experience, centered on building relationships and supporting people to live the lives they choose.
